Shaine Hoffman, DVM
Dr. Hoffman was born and raised in Rockton, Illinois, a small town on the Illinois-Wisconsin border. She received her Bachelor’s in Animal Science and Dairy Science from Iowa State University. After completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Hoffman worked as a veterinary technician in a mixed animal practice. Eventually, she made the decision to return to school and attended Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, completing her DVM in 2022. Dr. Hoffman met her husband, Shaun, during her time in undergrad and he is the main reason she became an Iowa transplant. The Hoffmans have 4 cats (Opie, Carl, Dwayne, and Darrell), 2 mixed breed dogs (Josie and Betty), a cow-calf herd, and an ever growing flock of laying hens. Together, they enjoy working on an endless list of projects on their acreage, growing new varieties of veggies in their garden, and planning their next cross-country road trip.
Dr. Hoffman joined the Den Herder Veterinary Hospital team in January 2024. Her favorite part of working at DHVH is learning from and collaborating with the outstanding doctors, nurses, and staff to serve you and your pets. As a veterinarian, Dr. Hoffman is passionate about fostering lifelong relationships with her clients and building the best possible care plan for their pets that also fits their lifestyles. She especially loves establishing the foundation for a happy, healthy pet through preventive medicine and the problem-solving challenges of internal medicine. Becoming a veterinarian was the realization of a lifelong dream and Dr. Hoffman is grateful for the opportunity to serve her community and be a resource to her clients at all points of their pets’ lives. She is eager to meet you and work together to achieve your goals for your pets’ health care!
